TWL | Transversal Welding Line

The easiest way to build an XXL plate starting from commercial material. This is a typical installation for over-sized Service Centers or for the production of Rail Coach Walls

The Castellini TWL is the faster and easier way to obtain over-sized plates. It also available with cutting portal for the preparation of any windows or openings (TWC series) or in its compact configuration using the a single portal for welding and cutting (TWCe series).

Technical and process features

The TWL line has been automatized to reach the highest possible level of quality, flexibility and performances. This large sheet metal fabrication line is designed for the automatic joining of different plates and automatic cutting of windows, doors, passages, ouvertures, without limitation in dimensions (especially in lenght).

The line can operate with different gradations and thicknesses of materials (Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, HSS, Docol , Domex , Hardox…).

The welding process can be designed to be adapted to the customer needs and to the most common commercial plates.

The line can be equipped with different welding technology as Pure Laser Welding, Laser Cold Wire Welding, or Hybrid Laser Arc Welding (HLAW) Technology, depending by the characteristics of the material and the thickness to be welded.

Characteristics of the Castellini TWL, TWC and TWCe solutions

The TWL series are all designed to weld and process transversally, commercial plates with different material grades and different thicknesses. The unit, equipped with different welding technology as Pure Laser Welding, Laser Cold Wire Welding, or Hybrid Laser Arc Welding (HLAW) Technology, is designed to carry out the complete welding cycle in automatic, including the loading and the alignment to the welding line.

The system can be equipped with NDT controls (Ultrasound systems) and can be integrated with an automatic cutting system, 2D or 3D (bevel) to prepare all required shapes and design.

While the width of the plate to be processed is related to the commercial plate width available and the use of the final XXL plate, the final length is theoretically with no limits.
