Small steps for a brighter future

Castellini participated with small, but, we believe, significant actions to different projects to sustain and support peoples in growing countries. One of them is the Mongo Community Mission in South Africa, where Father Franco Martellozzo and Brother Pietro Rusconi are working to support the local farmers and families, by producing traditional ploughs. More than 4.000 ploughs have been produced and have been delivered to the local farmers.

We received few weeks ago a letter from Father Franco, of which we are happy to propose here an extract:

“[…] I would like to remember the friends who lend a hand to make these lands habitable, with smiling people working their fields with ploughs pulled by their animals.

By now, thanks to your contribution, we have built more than 4,000 of them, and we hope slowly to be able to serve all the 34,000 members of our Agricultural Federation.

A great job in prospect.

[…] Certainly a rudimentary technique that may make you smile but which has enabled farmers to double and even triple their harvests and to overcome endemic famines.”
