Acquisition of LLS TITANIUM and CARBON-TI

The family grows

Acquisition of LLS TITANIUM and CARBON-TI by Castellini

This year, Castellini Officine Meccaniche celebrates its 75th anniversary, marking the occasion with a period of significant growth characterized by a consistent increase in order volumes and a doubling of turnover over the past three years, with over 70% of revenue continuing to come from foreign markets.

A family business now in its third generation, Castellini specializes in high-quality, large-scale mechanical manufacturing and is a leading partner for major European EPC Contractors and global producers of flat steel products. For over twenty years, Castellini has expanded its business with the development and production of highly innovative process plants utilizing Laser technology, primarily for the steel and naval sectors. Among the latest installations is an innovative panel line for Fincantieri Spa in Riva Trigoso, designed to produce large panels for ship decks using a patented system for welding varying thicknesses, developed in partnership with the client.

Located on a 70,000 square meter site with nearly 30,000 square meters of production space, Castellini has been based in the municipality of Cazzago San Martino since 1949. The company is constantly evolving, driven by a strong sense of corporate social responsibility, as demonstrated by its voluntary sustainability reporting in parallel with the financial statement in recent years, concretely affirming its commitment to environmental, social, and governance issues.

The passion for technological innovation and excellence, coupled with the desire to take on ambitious and challenging projects, has culminated in the creation of SolutionLab, an in-house research and development lab where a highly qualified and specialized team develops customized solutions leveraging Laser technology to meet customer needs and optimize industrial processes.

It is this desire to offer and implement innovative solutions that has bridged the gap between two seemingly distant worlds in terms of product and size but very close in terms of ambition and business vision. What unites an industrial reality like Castellini Officine Meccaniche with smaller companies like LLS Titanium and Carbon-Ti is the pursuit of excellence and innovation to provide high-quality products.

A deep understanding immediately developed between the Castellini family and the ownership of LLS Titanium, led by Dr. Ennio Pea, who is also the majority shareholder of Carbon-Ti. This understanding laid the foundation for the acquisition, completed August the 1st 2024, of the two companies by Castellini Officine Meccaniche. This agreement stems from a mutual recognition of a way of doing business imbued with solid values and principles, capable of looking to the future with ambition and curiosity. It is a model of entrepreneurship connected to people and the local area, living work with passion and dedication, and investing primarily in human capital to promote excellence in manufacturing and technology.

With the acquisition of LLS Titanium and Carbon-Ti, the Castellini family’s desire to create an industrial hub dedicated to technological research and Italian excellence is taking shape. The plan is to integrate the two companies and define tailored strategies to consolidate and support the brands, guiding them on a growth path. By combining Castellini’s know-how with the extensive sector experience of LLS and Carbon-Ti, along with the skills and knowledge of Breka, a company already present within the Castellini site and specialized in precision component manufacturing, the aim is to create an industrial district focused on the most technologically advanced manufacturing. Bringing all the companies together in one location, even though they are already physically close, is a choice based on recognizing the potential of being a “group,” the profitable exchange of knowledge, which generates contamination, stimuli, and creative synergies. This commercial union allows for the valorization and investment in the growth of small entities that, without a solid network behind them, risk succumbing to the often predatory dynamics of the global market.

For over 30 years, LLS Titanium has been producing titanium fasteners, aluminum alloys, and special steels, metals with mechanical and structural properties suitable for developing technologically advanced solutions and systems capable of ensuring high-performance levels. The experience gained in producing fasteners that meet international standards and the ability to respond to each customer’s specific needs has allowed LLS to establish itself as a supplier in various highly competitive sectors where technical know-how and a dedication to quality limit access. These sectors include the automotive industry (particularly hypercars) and racing, with a client portfolio including companies like Pagani Spa, Aprilia Racing Spa, Ducati Motor Holding Spa, Lamborghini Automobili Spa, and the Aerospace and Defense sector, where LLS is a supplier for Leonardo Spa, thanks to certifications UNI EN ISO 9001 and AS/EN 9100.

From LLS Titanium’s experience, Carbon-Ti was born in 2005, an Italian brand dedicated to producing high-quality cycling components. Leveraging the parent company’s knowledge and the team’s skills, Carbon-Ti has developed equipment over the years made of lightweight alloys and composite materials: a combination that ensures lightness, rigidity, and wear resistance. These fundamental concepts drive the pursuit of quality to ensure the excellence of all Carbon-Ti brand products, characterized by refined design, careful processing of raw materials (ergal, titanium, and carbon fiber), and meticulous assembly of each accessory, expertly crafted with the care and competence typical of artisanal production.

With an efficient and specialized research and development department, Carbon-Ti can create technical solutions tailored to individual needs, coordinating various sector experts and pushing the technological experimentation of materials to guarantee the highest performance. This has led to direct collaborations with top international cycling champions, engaged in prominent competitions such as the UCI World Tour and World Cup XCO, the most important international Marathon competitions, and the Cape Epic. During the Grand Départ of the Tour de France, Carbon-Ti officially unveiled all the components that will accompany Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and teammates on the roads of the world’s most important stage race.

These significant acquisitions clearly illustrate Castellini Officine Meccaniche’s desire to be recognized as a leading player in providing innovative and technologically complex solutions; a virtuous company in creating synergies, sharing know-how, and connecting business realities characterized by the same passion, high technological potential, and being concrete examples of Italian industrial excellence.
